Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. They serve a variety of purposes — from keeping you logged in, to remembering your preferences, to enabling analytics.
Multi-plex also makes use of browser localStorage and sessionStorage — web storage mechanisms that are technically distinct from cookies but function similarly by persisting small amounts of data in your browser. This policy covers all three.
Multi-plex uses only the minimum storage necessary to operate the service. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any cross-site tracking mechanisms.
How We Use Cookies
We use browser storage for the following strictly necessary purposes:
- Session state — keeping track of which room you are in, so that a page refresh does not disconnect you from your session.
- Display preferences — remembering your chosen display name and avatar color between visits, so you do not need to re-enter them each time.
We do not use cookies for:
- Advertising or retargeting.
- Cross-site tracking or fingerprinting.
- Analytics or behaviour profiling.
- Social media integration.
Because all cookies we set are strictly necessary to provide the service you requested, we do not require a cookie consent banner under current interpretations of ePrivacy legislation. If this changes, we will update this policy and our practices accordingly.
Essential Cookies
The following cookies and localStorage keys are set by Multi-plex:
No other first-party cookies or storage keys are set by Multi-plex.
Third-Party Cookies
Multi-plex loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google may set cookies or log your IP address when serving font files. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We load fonts only for display purposes; Google does not receive any room or user data from Multi-plex.
There are no other third-party cookies, scripts, or tracking technologies on Multi-plex. We do not embed social media widgets, advertising pixels, analytics packages, or session-recording tools.
Managing Cookies
You can control and delete cookies and localStorage data through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View all cookies and storage data set by a website.
- Delete cookies for a specific site or all sites.
- Block cookies from being set (note: blocking sessionStorage will prevent rooms from working correctly).
- Set cookies to be deleted automatically when you close your browser.
If you clear Multi-plex localStorage data, you will simply need to re-enter your display name and choose an avatar color on your next visit. No other functionality is affected.
For instructions specific to your browser, visit the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
